   WHO AM I

A homebody turned wannabe-international development practictioner, or as a friend once told me...a walking paradox.

Greetings! My name is Mia Schmid and I'm a Master's student at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey (MIIS). I'll finish my degree in Public Administration with a focus on Learning and Evaluation in December 2015.

As part of my Master's program, I am completing a 3-month field internship -- in place of a traditional Master's thesis -- through the Design, Partnering, Management, and Innovation (DPMI) Development Practicum program. Through DPMI I have the opportunity to apply many of the skills and knowledge I have gained over the last 1 1/2 years at MIIS in a practical "real world" setting.

I am originally from Santa Cruz, California and currently live there with my fiancé and our loveable dog, Jefe. When not in school, I love to bake, sew, and brew beer. And am currently planning a wedding.
